Positive Change Academy – Brandywine

The Positive Change Academy - Brandywine (PCA-BRY) provides a comprehensive program of individualized educational, behavioral health, and social services to youth in grades K-12 who have been recommended for an alternative school placement. Born and raised in Northeast Detroit, Jason obtained his Bachelor’s degree in secondary education and Master’s in History at Eastern Michigan University. Jason’s research focused on colonial America, and his graduate thesis entitled “Fighting for liberty in an unequal society: African American military service in the American Revolution and the path towards citizenship” traced the early successes and tribulations of African Americans as they fought to earn full citizenship in the new republic. Jason went into education over ten years ago and dedicated himself to working with Detroit’s underserved urban and bilingual population. During his time in Detroit, he was fortunate enough to assist in the opening and operating of two charter schools dedicated to 100% college acceptance and expeditionary-based learning. Upon moving to Delaware, Jason received his second Master’s in Educational Leadership and continues his mission of meeting the needs of underserviced youth in the Wilmington area by providing students with a first-rate alternative education as the leader of PCA Brandywine.
